Bar Member Favorites Sharon Hamilton Broach and Friends Sharon Hamilton Broach – RED SEA ETHIOPIAN AND MEDITERRANEAN RESTAURANT ▲ Sharon Hamilton Broach, attorney at Ken Perry Law Firm, and Prof. D. Wendy Greene of Cumberland School of Law enjoy the warm and friendly service and authentic Ethiopian food at Red Sea Ethiopian and Mediterranean Restaurant.  They enjoyed marinated lamb, mushrooms, peppers, squash, and potatoes seasoned with rosemary and other spices, turmeric rice, injera, and Apple Perrier.  Dessert was a delicious, light and fluffy cheese cake infused with traditional Mediterranean spices. Family sized meals are also available for dinner on the go. Joe Fawal – BOTTEGA ▼ Bottega is my favorite place to eat, both sides. In part, because it’s only a block away from my office, but mainly because I love their food. The food is fabulous with a great selection, and the people are as friendly as they can be. It is my home away from home and office, and I value my relationships with the employees and of course, Frank and Pardis, and hope to continue being a frequent customer for years to come. Christie Graham with William, Thomas and Mattie Christie Graham – SOL AZTECA ▲ My favorite Birmingham restaurant for a festive quick meal is Sol Azteca. I first visited Sol Azteca with law school classmates when the restaurant was located in what was then the Vestavia Motor Lodge.  I was dubious, but the friendly service and delicious food won me over!  My husband Will and I ate at Sol Azteca at least once a week for at least 10 years, and in the early years of my practice I hosted more than one margarita recruiting event at Sol Azteca's "new" location on Highway 31.  Over 20 years later, I love that I can enjoy the great food at Sol Azteca with my children (William, Thomas and Mattie). ◄ Joe Fawal with Frank and Pardis Stitt Anne and John Durward Anne Lamkin Durward and John Durward – FANCY’S ON FIFTH One of John’s and my favorite restaurants in Birmingham has to be Fancy’s on Fifth. Where else can you go and get craft cocktails, fabulous seafood and burgers so unique that they have names? Of course, only I can order “Anne’s Drink” but there are plenty of other ones for the rest of you! Fancy’s somehow manages to create new and exciting combinations each week for their entrees and cocktails. The food is fantastic and we have never had a bad meal. The service also deserves a special mention. The staff at Fancy’s know their regulars and make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. A true gem in our restaurant scene and one not to be missed. Birmingham Bar Bulletin/ Winter 2018 21
