Birmingham Bar Association

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Following up my message to you in September, I have good news to report on both the personal and professional fronts!  I am responding favorably to my treatment for lung cancer, and my medical team is “very optimistic” for continued progress.  On the professional front, your leadership is managing a solid process to identify my successor for 2018, and I have every confidence that the Bar will be in outstanding hands! Please know that the opportunity to work with all of you over the past seven years has been nothing short of phenomenal!  The Birmingham Bar Association is known throughout the United States as a cohesive, supportive, and contributory Bar Association with an unmatched sense of camaraderie and good will.  Through inevitable hills and valleys, it rallies in the best interests of Birmingham’s legal community and community at large. I don’t have space here to acknowledge everyone who has made this professional experience, for me, the best of my career, but I am grateful to have worked with these outstanding leaders:  Jim Lloyd, Joe Fawal, Robert Baugh, Robin Burrell, Steve Casey, Bob MacKenzie, Leila Watson, and incoming BBA President Alan Rogers.  Dana Thomas and Alyssa Prater are blessings to the Birmingham Bar.  Nikki Thomas, Jequette Edmonson and Nancy Yarbrough are dedicated stewards for our affiliated organizations. Together we have accomplished much, and I am proud to have been a part.  Thanks for the memories, as they say, and wishing all of us, and especially the Birmingham Bar, the very best as life moves us forward.  Happy holidays, and all good things for 2018!
