As you read this, we are busy preparing for the Bar’s Annual Meeting in the Presiding Judge’s Courtroom at the Jeff erson County Courthouse on Friday, December 13th at 2:00pm, followed by the annual Members’ Holiday Party – Please plan to join us! Th is year has been an important one, both for our Association and our community. We were proud to join with the Magic City Bar and the Birmingham Bar Foundation to co-sponsor the Journey for Justice Gala and the “Preserving Justice” documentary, which recognized many of the lawyers that helped to move Birmingham beyond the diffi cult days of the 1960s. Community-wide events recalled the struggles and challenges of those times, yet reminded us of the importance of lawyers and our legal system in ensuring equal rights for all. I hope you found these events to be both meaningful and inspirational. It was an honor, too, to work alongside our President, Robert Baugh, who did an exceptional job in leading the BBA this year. It is evident that Robert cares greatly about the Birmingham Bar, and I hope you will congratulate him on a job well done. In the meantime, we are excited for Robin Burrell to take the helm next year, and are working steadily to improve and develop the resources we off er to you, our most important asset! Please let us know when we can be of any assistance, and best wishes for a safe and enjoyable holiday season. John W.
