Birmingham Bar Association Bulletin

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Our Bar is an engaged and active organization, and I want the Bulletin to be one of the many places where we showcase the great things that our members are doing. Here are three highlights from this issue: We are working on updating the Bulletin to feature our members and their accomplishments. For example, we are highlighting a Section and a Committee in each issue so that you know what is going on in our Bar. I hope this will encourage you to join Sections and Committees if you haven’t already. Also, through our quarterly interview series, you can get to know some of your fellow members. It was with great sadness that we suddenly and unexpectedly said good-bye to Bo Landrum in March – too early. Bo’s memorial service was held at the Bar Center on April 7 and we dedicated CLE room in his name: the John W. “Bo” Landrum CLE Center. This issue of the Bulletin features photos from his time at the Bar as a tribute to the great friend and leader he was. Consider these ways to get more involved in the Bar: LawyerConnect – receive client referrals; Annual Picnic – a seriously good time (see details below); lots of CLEs (see p. 26 for example); and lots more. Watch for details in the Tuesday and Thursday emails from us. We love it when you drop by to visit us at your Bar Center. And we always want to hear your great ideas for improving your Bar. Have a great summer! Jennifer M. Buettner Executive Director 2018 BOARD OF EDITORS William G. Nolan Jennifer W. Picket (Chair) John W. Scott Christopher Weaver Nathan Weinert M.
