BBVLP BIRMINGHAM BAR VOLUNTEER LAWYERS PROGRAM DONORS Donations from the Birmingham legal community are the number one funding source for the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program (BBVLP). Without this generous support, the BBVLP would cease to be able to support volunteer attorneys who provide civil legal assistance to thousands of indigent Jeff erson County residents. In 2014 alone, some 350 BBVLP volunteer attorneys provided legal assistance to 2,305 clients. Th e law fi rms and individuals who donate to the BBVLP are putting their money to good use. For every $1 donated to the BBVLP, the Birmingham community receives $12.38 of immediate and long-term fi nancial benefi ts, according to a new study funded by the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation. Th ese fi nancial benefi ts are a result of future cost savings and additional income to the community. To donate to the BBVLP, simply go to https://donatenow. networkforgood.org/vlpbirmingham or contact Executive Director Nancy Yarbrough at nyarbrough@ vlpbirmingham.org.
