Birmingham Bar Association Bulletin - Fall 2013

BBVLP - Service The Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program thanks ALL of the volunteer attorneys and others who help meet the legal needs of low-income and indigent citizens in Jefferson County. While every lawyer who gives of his or her time and talent cannot be named below, following is a list of several volunteers who really went the extra mile in providing pro bono service over the past few months: Tim Smith, Kearney Hutsler, Beth Swann, Megan Elder, Chris Reid, Vincent Saylor, Charlie Lorant, Shaun Pryor, Bryant Whitmire, Stacey Davis, Chris Yielding, Josh Jones, Justin Taylor, Joe Leavens, Larkin Radney, Daniel Snyder, Bo Linder, Walt McArdle, Missy Doggett, Ashley Wright, Cassandra Adams, Ed Meyerson, Stella Jackson, Brian Turner, Julie Goyer, Bruce Burttram, Heather Fann, Sid Hughes, Jessie Hardy, Ferris Ritchey, Steve Shaw and Suzanne Childers Thanks to these lawyers and so many other dedicated attorneys throughout our legal community, the BBVLP proudly reports that more than one thousand cases have been concluded in 2013 through July 31st! This is an impressive number, but behind each number is some variation of human struggle, challenge, and hardship. The work of the BBVLP and its lawyers helps to lessen these burdens and promote trust and confidence in our legal system. Thank you! If you have any questions or would like to volunteer for a case, please contact Stephen Hudgens at shudgens@vlpbirmingham.org.
